Just the other day I was scrolling through Hollywood movies on YouTube, yes I don’t have Netflix, but I do watch Amazon Prime sometimes, Mercy caught me off guard.
Starring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson, Mercy is a wakeup call for the world that is steadily headed towards an ‘AI Armageddon’ curiosity of all Big Tech and billionaires splashing millions and trillions into programs to make human beings redundant.
This is a harsh reality.
Big companies and governments all over the world would do anything to save money….even if it means snatching jobs, eliminating manpower, or starving families. Who cares!
Coming back to Mercy, storyline – Chris Pratt starring as detective Chris Raven and Rebecca Ferguson as Justice Maddox (not to give away the climax). Pratt tries to prove his innocence, while the AI system – shows him the ticking clock.
AI Bots Mercy
In today’s time, Big Tech and other companies are heavily investing AI bots, sharing sensitive information, and using them as personal assistants.
Say for instance…..in a couple of months, the wars take a nasty AI- twist, these chatbots can turn against mankind! Planet Earth, our beautiful home – which we have already choked with carbon emissions, and waterbodies with microplastics and chemicals – will be free of humans and inhabited by AI-chatbots!
Unlike us humans, AI-chatbots lack consciousness.
Shady organisations and governments find this handy as these chatbots can get the work done in battlefields and so on without ‘feeling it’ – no post-traumatic stress disorders, no nightmares and no morality dilemmas.
Let’s say, there’s a technical glitch – a virus turns AI (chatbots) into techno-zombies or chatbot zombies and infiltrate the human systems – lock us out of our bank accounts, shut down electricity and water supplies, lock us out of our smart homes, and smart vehicles, and shuts down governments – picture it as lights flicking off one country after the another.
Do these Big Tech companies and governments have a gameplan to tackle it or will they look for patient zero!
